Information Note for Employees

What it is & why it is implemented

The Digital Card records with accuracy the actual start and end of work, ensuring that working hours are respected and that overtime is paid.

How to “clock in”

  • You will use your personal Digital Card (QR) via the myErgani app on your mobile phone or through myErgani.gov.gr.
  • At the time of arrival/departure, the supervisor scans the QR through the employer’s Ergani CardScanner app, or the recording is done automatically by the company’s timekeeping system.
  • In myErgani you can see the Actual Work Calendar, schedule declarations, overtime, and you can print your card (QR).

When to clock in / when not to

  • You clock in when you are physically present at the company’s premises.
  • You do not clock in when working entirely remotely on that specific day. If you spend part of the day at the office, you clock in normally upon entry/exit.
  • Special cases (e.g. non-fixed workplace – technicians/salespeople/drivers, contractors working at another employer’s premises) may be exempt from clocking in; follow your employer’s/HR’s instructions.

Flexible arrival / Preparation time

If there is a written agreement with the employer, flexible arrival of up to 120 minutes may apply (e.g. instead of 9:00 you may arrive at 8:30 or 10:00). You simply clock in at your actual arrival/departure time.

A preparation time of 30 minutes before work and 30 minutes after work is provided for employees in the industrial sector, and 10 minutes before work and 10 minutes after work for employees in other sectors (except industry), so they can properly prepare when arriving and leaving work. The marking of the Digital Work Card by the employee must take place:
a) at the start of the declared working hours, after the preparation time before starting work, and
b) at the end of the declared working hours, before the preparation time prior to leaving work.

If I forget to clock in / make a mistake

Immediately inform your supervisor/HR so that the necessary corrections can be made according to company policy. There is a margin of good faith for up to 3 “single clockings” per month without penalty (subject to inspection).
